PADI Open Water Course

PADI Open Water Course

Earn a PADI Open Water SCUBA certification over 4 days in order to better discover the marine life of The Great Barrier Reef. The course involves a swim test, medical exam, and two days in the pool and classroom to understand and practice the basics. The second two days are spent at the Great Barrier Reef with your dive instructor, completing your Open Water Dives. Upon completion, you may safely dive anywhere in the world! For those who are already certified, you can earn a PADI Advanced Open Water certification. Some students may be eligible to earn university credit for their SCUBA studies as well.

Intro SCUBA Diving

Intro SCUBA Diving

An Introductory Dive, also known as a “Resort Dive” or a “Discover Dive” is the best way to have a diving experience without committing to a Learn to Dive course. First you get a briefing from your dive intructor and a safety discussion. Then you do a few practice skills in the water, followed by a short shallow dive. Great care is taken to make you feel safe and comfortable, and you will be on the arm of a dive instructor the whole time. You will go to a maximum of 12 metres (40 feet). Afterwards you will get a certificate of completion, but this should not be confused with a SCUBA diving certification.

Certified SCUBA Diving

Certified SCUBA Diving

If you already have a certification, then you have the option of adding SCUBA diving to your day or overnight trip. If you are going out on a liveaboard boat, you also have the option of doing a phenomenal night dive to see the glow of the Great Barrier Reef at night.
